The Doha Corniche is a seafront promenade that stretches for several kilometers along the bay in the city of Doha , the capital of Qatar . A major thoroughfare connects the business district with the south of the city and Doha Airport . The coast was reshaped in extensive construction during the 1970s and 1980s.

The city has expanded rapidly in recent years, with numerous skyscrapers being built along the Corniche . There are numerous luxury hotels and parks along the Corniche , as well as the palace of the emir . The Museum of Islamic Art , which opened in December 2008, was also built in the area . Other major construction projects such as the Qatar National Bank Tower and the Dubai Towers Doha have been on hold since 2010.

The Doha Corniche has also been a stage destination on the Qatar tour several times .
