Dolkun Isa

Dolkun Isa (born September 2, 1967 ) is a Uyghur politician and activist. He is president of the World Uyghur Congress .

Dolkun Isa was born in the north-west Chinese Uyghur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang . From 1985 to 1989 he was a leader of pro-democracy protests at Xinjiang University. In 1994 he fled China to Europe. He has been a German citizen since 2006.

Isa has been involved in the World Uyghur Congress since it was founded . In November 2017 he was elected its President.
