dollar

Dollar is a former French motorcycle manufacturer that existed from 1925 to 1939. The company was based in Joinville-le-Pont . In the 1930s, the model range included three ohv -controlled engines of 250, 350 and 500 cm³ displacement from Chaise . A motorcycle with a V4 engine and a displacement of 748 cm³ was also offered in small numbers. In the beginning, motors from Moser and MAG are said to have been used, and later, in individual copies, by JAP .

The Dollar V4 with longitudinally installed air-cooled four-cylinder engine from Chaise with 748 cm³ displacement (bore / stroke: 62.6 × 60.8 mm) and 22 HP at 4000 rpm, offered in 1933, is one of the pioneers of modern engine construction (cylinder angle of only 14 °). Suppliers like Honda and Audi later adopted this concept.
