The Domain Pulse is a specialist conference for the German-speaking area that deals with current questions and trends relating to domains and the further development of the Internet .

history

The Domain Pulse took place for the first time in 2004 in Zurich . The focus was on the introduction of internationalized domain names (IDNs), which in addition to the letters of the English alphabet can also contain other letters, for example from French.

Domain Pulse 2005 was organized in Vienna , Austria by the registry nic.at responsible for the top-level domain .at . At this conference, topics such as Internet governance, spam and, last but not least, ENUM were discussed.

The third Domain Pulse took place in Berlin , Germany, in 2006 and was organized by the German registry DENIC eG. The lectures were there under the motto "Perspectives of the Internet" and focused on technical issues as well as institutional further development of the Internet, especially the role of ICANN .

In 2007, the Domain Pulse was organized by the Swiss registry SWITCH in Baden , Switzerland under the motto "Domain names in the field of tension between speculation and utility".
