The domain tasting is a method for testing the attractiveness of domains .

Domain brokers in particular take advantage of the fact that ICANN allows a domain to be sold in the first few days after registration without incurring a registration fee ( domain kiting ).

In the case of .de domains, it is common to negotiate with the respective registrar ( DENIC member) that the registered domains are billed on a monthly instead of an annual basis. This greatly reduces the cost risk of incorrect registrations, especially since uninteresting domains can be deleted before the end of the current month.
