Dominicus (Gran)
Dominicus (Hungarian Domonkos ; † after 1001) was Archbishop of Gran (Esztergom) in Hungary.
Life
There is hardly any historical information about him. Around 1000/02 a Dominicus was listed as vice chancellor and monk in a certificate of confirmation for the first Hungarian monastery on the Martinsberg (Pannonhalma). In 1037 an archbishop was named Dominicus, possibly for a previous time.
Hungarian research today assumes that Dominicus was the first archbishop of the Archdiocese of Gran, founded in 1001.
