Dominus
Dominus (derived from the Latin domus "house") denotes:
- a landlord in classical Latin ,
- in post-classical Latin the monotheistic God of Christianity,
- in Roman law the owner ,
- in today's German the male counterpart to a dominatrix .
The form of address Don in some of the Romance subsidiary languages of Latin is also derived from dominus .
