The north side of the Domplatz is completely occupied by the former cathedral and city cemetery , on the grounds of which the Karner chapel St. Michael and the burial place of the canons are located. In the east, the Limburg Cathedral is directly adjacent to the complex. The entrance to Limburg Castle runs along the south facade .

In its southeast corner, the Domplatz is bounded by the gardens of the Dompfarrhaus , to the south the large and small cathedral stairs lead off towards Roßmarkt , Bischofsplatz and Kornmarkt . This confluence is flanked by the houses Domplatz 5 and the former Domküsterhaus , which, like the neighboring, square-defining Haus Staffel ( Alte Vikarie ) are under monument protection.

To the west, the Domplatz merges into Domstrasse , on the south side of the confluence is the St. Mary's Chapel , completed in 2012 , behind a high quarry stone wall , as well as the Domküsterhaus and Haus Staffel, part of the diocesan center St. Nicholas of the Diocese of Limburg, completed in 2013 .
