Domstiftsschule (Frankfurt am Main)
The Domstiftsschule , later Selektenschule , was a school in Frankfurt am Main near the Church of Our Lady . It was a boys school. In the meantime it was a Reform Progymnasium and Real-Progymnasium.
The school was founded in 876 by Emperor Ludwig the German , a grandson of Charlemagne . In 1826, city architect Johann Friedrich Christian Hess built a new classical building for the school. Around 1917 there was another move. In 1926 the 1050th anniversary was celebrated.
