Don Kirkpatrick
Donald "Don" Kirkpatrick (born June 17, 1905 in Charlotte (North Carolina) , † May 13, 1956 ) was an American jazz pianist and arranger of swing .
Don Kirkpatrick played with Chick Webb ( Heebie Jeepies , 1931) from 1926 to 1933 and with Elmer Snowden and Don Redman from 1933 to 1937. He also worked as arranger for Teddy Hill , Count Basie , Cootie Williams , Buddy Johnson , Benny Goodman and other band leaders. Kirkpatrick recorded records with Benny Morton in 1934, Sidney Bechet , Bunk Johnson in 1947 and as a member of the Wilbur De Paris Orchestra from 1952 to 1955 . Shortly after leaving the New New Orleans Jazz Band, Kirkpatrick died of pneumonia.
