Donald Mason

Donald Mason is a retired American basketball player .

Life

Mason, a six-foot-tall formation player, was a member of the Fresno State University team in his home country, the United States , between 1978 and 1982 . In these four years he played 109 games for the university team and came up with averages of 7.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per encounter. He went to Germany as a professional and became German champion with ASC 1846 Göttingen in the 1983/84 season. His teammate at the time, Wilbert Olinde, described Mason as a bundle of energy, an easy-going type and spectacular athlete who was homesick in Göttingen. In 1984 and 1985 Mason won the DBB Cup with the ASC . In 1985 he moved from the Bundesliga club ASC to the second division club BG 74 Göttingen . In 1986 he returned to the ASC. In the 1987/88 season he played ten games for the Mississippi Jets in the US League Continental Basketball Association . After his basketball career, Mason went back to California and temporarily worked as a pizza driver.
