Danube Principalities

With the term Danubian principalities were referred to the 19th century under Ottoman suzerainty standing Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia .
The term continues to be used in historical representations relating to both principalities.

The Principality of Serbia , which is also located on the Danube and is also under Ottoman sovereignty, is mostly not counted among the actual (Romanian) Danube principalities .
