Donore Megalithic Tomb (locally also known as "The Fairy Stone" - German  "Feenstein" ) is located in a small forest in the townland Donore ( Irish Dún Uabhair ) - ( German  "Fortress of Pride" ), 1.5 km east of the River Barrow and 2.5 km south of Muine Bheag in County Carlow , Ireland . The Barrow is believed to be the river referred to as Birgus on Ptolemy's map from 150 AD. The earliest recorded Irish name (from 996 AD) is Berbha.

The megalithic complex, which is indeterminable in terms of type and orientation, consists of a massive granite slab measuring 2.95 × 3.6 m that has been broken into two parts. The capstone is supported in the north by an upright stone 2.1 m long and 1.3-1.0 m high and rests on the natural rock soil in the south.

Nearby is Ballymoon Castle .
