Double belt feeder
A double belt feeder (DGZ) has the task of regulating the ammunition feed for locking a machine gun .
With a double belt feed, such as in the Marder armored personnel carrier , it is possible for the gunner to choose between two different types of ammunition at the push of a button. If the type of ammunition is changed, the DGZ slides on a rail into the next position and passes the ammunition to the breech . Usually one belt is used with one armor piercing and one explosive ammunition.
