Dual license player

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dual license player is a terminus technicus from the field of sport . It means that the rule of only working for a single club within a season is temporarily suspended.

This is especially true for relatively young players, so that they can train in a build-up team on the one hand and in a lower-ranking team, often from the same club, or from a cooperation partner , on the other . In the latter case, in contrast to the sponsorship license, there is often no athletic promotion to the higher-ranking team, the use there only serves for training. Occasionally, clubs adorn themselves with so-called double licenses.

However, there are also cases in which players outside the age of the sponsorship license play in a double license. The prerequisite is that in the event of a club change, the player is provided free of charge , with the reservation that he can be used in precisely defined cases if necessary. Then the acquiring club must loan the player to the releasing club free of charge.
