The Doppler Hill is a 68 m high, overgrown on its flanks hill of rock and Moränengeröll on the island Heard in the archipelago of Heard Island and McDonald Islands in the southern Indian Ocean . Round Hill and Lambeth Bluff can be seen from its summit .
Australian scientists built a station here in March 1980 for satellite-based position determination using the Doppler effect , which is what gave the hill its name.
