The Dorfcombo is a band from Rheinstetten ( Baden-Württemberg ) that plays rock music with German lyrics.

history

The band was founded in Rheinstetten in the mid-1980s. The first album was self-distributed in 1991. The group developed a reputation as a good live band at numerous concerts, including in the opening act for Purple Schulz and the Spider Murphy Gang . The often ironic lyrics were characteristic.

In 1993 the village combo won the Rookies competition for young talents organized by the radio station SWF3 with the song It's always better . After that, the band received offers from well-known record companies. Her second album Gnadenlos Virtuos was released by BMG and contained not only new but also some old songs from the first album, including the title Dich lieb ich noch mehr (car song) , which was released as a single and published by Ariola . However, the band members consciously decided against a future as professional musicians, because they did not want to take this step out of consideration for their family and professional situation.

In the following years the band released two more albums and performed with bands like The Hooters , Paddy Goes to Holyhead , BAP and the Leningrad Cowboys . For the time being, they gave their last concert on June 28, 2019 at the 800th anniversary of Neuburgweier.
