Ihleburger Church

The Ihleburg village church is the evangelical church in Ihleburg (Saxony-Anhalt).

history

A rough plastered building in neo-Romanesque style was erected in 1878 on the head-high field stone plinth walls of the formerly Romanesque church. In the east, a narrower multi-sided chancel is added to the nave. On the west side there is a square tower in half-timbered construction, which was clad with slate. The octagonal tip is adorned with four squat side turrets. The interior has a flat beamed ceiling supported by arches, and a gallery is attached to the west side . The simple pulpit altar in classical style was made in 1829. There is an organ in the arched style, which was made in 1886 by the Stendal organ builder Vogt. The hemispherical baptismal font , resting on one foot, dates back to Roman times.
