The village church Münchenroda in the district Münchenroda of the city of Jena in Thuringia on the northwestern edge of the village is a hall church with a turret . Their wooden framework is covered with slate . In the simple hall there are double galleries on three sides .

The church was owned by the nearby Bürgel monastery for a long time . It belongs to the parish Großschwabhausen in the parish of Jena the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

Important maintenance work is currently underway on the church. In the first construction phase, these consist of the dismantling and subsequent reconstruction of the church tower, which is why the church is currently scaffolded.
