Architecture and history

Nave
Steeple

The church was built in 1836 instead of a previous building in the classical style made of plastered brick. The nave has three large arched windows on each of its long sides. There are semicircular windows in the gable on the east side. The church tower is located on the west side on a rectangular floor plan. At the height of the ridge, the tower merges into a square floor plan. Only the west wall of the tower is solidly bricked, the other walls are made of boarded timber . The entrance to the church is from the west through two arched portals. Both the tower and the facade protrude somewhat from the nave.

In 1925 the church was restored. Improper repairs to the plastering around 1970 impaired the external appearance. The tower, roof and facade were restored again in 1999.

The interior of the church is spanned by a painted, wooden, coffered barrel ceiling that rests on the sides on the cornices . The cornices are interrupted by the windows. The equipment is simple and comes from the construction period. There is also a pulpit altar underneath . In the church there is a bell from 1494, but the clapper is missing.

A brick gate from the 16th century is located north of the church as access to the churchyard.
