Wethau village church
The village church Wethau is the Protestant church of the village Wethau .
architecture
The current church was built in 1805 and 1806 on a hill above the village on the site of a previous building. The churchyard wall is older and is dated to 1749.
The nave has a high hipped mansard roof . The church tower on the east side is covered by a tail hood .
The motto attached to the cemetery wall is remarkable:
Everyone who passes by.
Watch how it is with him.
What you are we were,
and what we are you will.
Furnishing
Inside there is a so-called mirror ceiling, which is sparingly decorated with stucco. A sacrament niche from the late Gothic period has been preserved from the church that originally stood here . A bronze bell dated around 1300 also comes from the previous building.
A horseshoe gallery dominates the interior. The gallery is two-story on the north and south sides, and protrudes into the nave in the west. There is also a richly decorated organ front . Also worth seeing is the pulpit altar with side passages . On both sides of the altar there are glazed boxes with vase attachments. There is also a free-standing Fides figure there.
