Dorian Le Gallienne

Dorian Leon Marlois Le Gallienne (born April 19, 1915 in Melbourne ; † July 27, 1963 there ) was an Australian composer.

Dorian Le Gallienne studied at the University of Melbourne and from 1938 at the Royal College of Music London with Herbert Howells and Arthur Benjamin . After 1945 he worked in Melbourne as a teacher at the conservatory, sound engineer for Australian radio and music critic.

He composed two symphonies , a symphonic study, two ballets , chamber music works, piano pieces, psalms for choir and orchestra and songs .
