Doris Leslie
Doris Leslie , nee Doris Oppenheim , married Doris Hannay , (* 1902 , † 1982 ) was a British writer .
Life
Leslie was a novelist and wrote historical biographies . Her first novel, The Starling , published in 1927, was followed by 13 other works. Her fame increased with the publication of Royal William , a biography of King William IV. In 1940. This was followed by Polonaise , a description of Chopin's life that became a bestseller , or The Scepter and the Rose , the story of Charles II and Catherine of Braganza . The biography of the famous French ballad singer gained some fameFrançois Villon with the title I sing from bed and gallows (1962).
Doris Leslie was married and widowed twice. She didn't have any children. Her second husband was Sir Walter Hannay, who died in 1961.
