Dorodango (泥doro mud, * だ ん ご; dango compressed ball) is a Japanese art form in which simple earth and water are used to create a perfect, shiny ball . In terms of appearance, it is comparable to a marble or a billiard ball.

Manufacturing

By adding water, a ball is formed from simple earth. Ever finer sand particles are applied to the surface of this ball in several work steps until no particles can stick to the surface due to insufficient moisture. The shiny surface is created without polishing the ball.
