The Dorze are a small ethnic group of around 28,000 members in Ethiopia .

Your language, Dorze , is one of the Omotic languages . They live mainly in the south of the country in villages around Chencha and Arba Minch in the Semien Omo district , part of the region of the southern nations, nationalities and peoples . Some Dorze have migrated to Addis Ababa or other regions. An essential occupation for many Dorze is weaving .

music

Their polyphonic multi-part vocal music is characterized by the refined use of the hoquetus and has some similarities to the music of the Central African pygmies .
