Douglas DaSilva

Douglas DaSilva (* 1965 ) is a Brazilian composer, guitarist and music organizer.

New York-based DaSilva is artistic director of the Composer's Voice Concert Series and the Premiere Salon Concerts , which feature new works by contemporary composers. He also gave concerts in Rio de Janeiro and Valencia. As a guitarist he performed a. a. in the Lincoln Center , the Presbyterian Jan Hus Church , the Rock Club Bitter End and in the Cutting Room on.

In addition to guitar works and songs, DaSilva composed chamber music and electroacoustic works. His music is influenced by jazz, rock and blues and spans the spectrum from catchy pieces to experimental works. He recorded his sarabande for flute and guitar with the flautist Kathleen Nester . World premieres played u. a. the harpists Jasmin Bey Cowin and Alyssa Reit , the guitarists Kai Watanabe and Kenji Haba and the violinist Gregory Durozel .
