Douglas Hoyos-Trauttmansdorff (born September 8, 1990 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian politician ( NEOS ). He is a member of the National Council and was elected to the NEOS list in the National Council election in Austria on October 15, 2017.

Life

Douglas Hoyos-Trauttmansdorff comes from the Hoyos family and grew up in Lower Austria. He passed his Matura in 2009 at the Bundesrealgymnasium in Horn and did his military service with the guard of the Austrian Armed Forces . He was the deputy director of a theme adventure park. Since 2010 he has been studying business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

In 2012 he was elected to the Federal Board of Directors as Secretary General at the Federal Congress of Young Liberals (JuLis, today: JUNOS) . He played a leading role in the integration of the JuLis as the official youth party of the parliamentary party NEOS. On the XI. He was elected federal chairman of the current JUNOS national congress. He named the following points as the goals of his political work: Strengthening Austria as a location for innovation, promoting the start-up landscape for (young) entrepreneurs and a school system with equal opportunities. As the campaign manager of JUNOS in the 2017 ÖH elections , he was able to contribute to the best result ever achieved by liberal groups (with 12.6% or 7 seats).

Before joining the National Council in 2017, he worked as a project manager at NEOS and in a forestry company.
