description

The villa was built around 1805. It stands in isolation about five kilometers northeast of Kirriemuir on the left bank of the South Esk near the confluence of the Prosen Waters . It is a three-storey villa, which is designed in a classical style. Their facades are plastered with Harl , with natural stone details set off. A rounded central projection emerges on the south facade facing the garden . One-story wings flank the villa. The interior has largely been preserved in its original state.

The stables and barn are 150 yards north of Downie Park House. The symmetrically constructed stables are also designed in a classical style. Corner towers with pyramid roofs protruding from the facade flank the one-story main building. While the stables were built in 1805, the barn and cottages were not built until 1812.
