Downsyde is a hip-hop band from the western Australian city of Perth .
history
Downsyde emerged from a school band of the two MCs Scott Griffiths (MC Optamus) and Shahbaz Rind (MC Dyna-mikes), which first appeared in a school competition in 1996. Later a third MC, Darren Reutens (MC Dazastah), as well as the DJ Damien Allia (DJ Army), the drummer Salvatore Pizzata and the keyboardist Mat Cheetham (Cheeky) joined the group. Downsyde only performed live for four years. In 2000 she released her first album with recordings from the past four years.
