Drägerweg

Pedestrian bridge along the Drägerweg over the Wakenitz

The Drägerweg has been a hiking trail between Lübeck and Rothenhusen that has been continuously established since 2007 .

The path runs almost parallel to the Wakenitz , but has little contact with the river in the southern part. The distance between the Moltkebrücke shipping pier in Lübeck and Rothenhusen on Ratzeburg Lake is around 18 km. The waterway, used by the Wakenitz shipping company, is around 14 km long.

The name refers to the former Lübeck factory owner Heinrich Dräger , whose foundation made organizational and financial contributions. Further funding was made available from the A20 motorway project .
