Drabble

A drabble is a mostly pointed story that has to consist of exactly 100 words. The headline is not counted. Originally operated as fan fiction , it is often used by inexperienced authors as an introduction to poetry or prose due to its simple external form . Because it is limited to the essentials, writing drabbles is often a challenge, even for experienced authors.

The term goes back to a sketch by Monty Python . Drabbles - a word game for 2 to 4 players. In the 1980s this gave rise to a "drabblemany" in Great Britain which was standardized by the Birmingham University SF Society .
