Dracon
The Dracon racetrack (Bulgarian: Писта "Дракон") is a permanent motorsport facility near the town of Kaloyanovo in central Bulgaria .
history
In March 2005 the Dragon Ltd (Дракон ООД) bought the former agricultural airfield with an area of 165 hectares and built the racetrack with a length of around 1700 meters. The seven left and six right turns are part of the runway of the former airfield. An expansion to 2600 meters is planned. The track is licensed by the Bulgarian Automobile Sports Association.
The national touring car championships are held annually on the Dracon track. The start and finish straight with a length of around 580 meters is also used for drag racing events (quarter mile). Due to its central location in Bulgaria, the facility is also used as an exhibition area for trade fairs and for motorcycle and automobile training days. The restaurant on the route is open all year round. The operator is Dragon Ltd.
