Mastermind (metaphor)
Wire puller (from the puppet player who controls his figures on wires) is an expression for the planners or secret authors of criminal acts or dubious actions. The mastermind refers to the man behind who plans an action in the background, but consciously lets others carry it out in order to remain undetected. The terms string puller and gray eminence have a similar meaning .
