Benedum Center

The Benedum Center (formerly known as the Stanley Theater ) is a theater building in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania . It opened on February 27, 1928 and currently has a capacity of 2,885 spectators. In 1987, 43 million was US dollar expensive restoration completed and the theater was renamed to "Benedum Center". Before that, Billboard magazine dubbed it the "Number One Auditorium in the US". At the moment, mainly classical works and ballets are performed.

However, it is also known in the rock and reggae scenes . Grateful Dead played two legendary concerts in the "Stanley Theater". In addition, the reggae star Bob Marley had his last appearance here on September 23, 1980, before he died in May 1981.
