The Grangemouth Swing Bridge is a swing bridge that was formerly used for internal road and rail traffic to the port and dock facilities in the Scottish town of Grangemouth in the Falkirk Council Area . It was commissioned by the Caledonian Railway and opened in 1906. The engineer D. A. Mathieson is responsible for the planning. The construction work was carried out by Motherwell Bridge & Engineering Co. Ltd. by. In 1994 the structure was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in Category B. Besides the Victoria Bridge in Leith (now part of Edinburgh ) it is the only remaining bridge of this type in Scotland.

The swing bridge spans the passage from the Grangemouth Docks basin into the Western Channel basin . It consists of a steel construction which spans the waterway with a length of 49 m with an arch. The roadway for automobile traffic consists of suspended wooden planks. Furthermore, a track has been laid so that the bridge can also be used for rail traffic. The 165 ton construction is rotated hydraulically. It is monitored from the south side by a wooden watch tower. This is extensively glazed and accessible via an external staircase.
