The magazine Drehscheibe is a railway magazine that has been published since January 1983 and is operated by the Arbeitsgemeinschaft DREHSCHEIBE e. V. is published. history

The magazine was created at the end of 1982 from the merger of the magazines Dompfeil Kurier from Cologne and Prellbock from Münster . The publisher is the association Arbeitsgemeinschaft DREHSCHEIBE e. V. based in Cologne . The initial print run of 170 copies has now been increased to around 6000 copies. The manufacturing process also changed with advancing technology from photocopying to classic offset printing to digital direct printing.

In addition, the Arbeitsgemeinschaft DREHSCHEIBE e. V. further specialist publications on selected railway topics as special issues under the same name. One of the goals of the association is to create a platform for rail enthusiasts to exchange information. Since October 1996, the working group has been operating an internet platform in addition to the print medium, which is used to exchange information among railroad fans. This has now developed into one of the largest railway forums in the German-speaking area.
