Thirties (unit)

Thirties was a small grain measure in Bavaria and was last in the chain from old Metzen downwards. It was the 32nd part of the Metzen.

  • 1 old Bavarian Metzen = 2 quarters = 4 half quarters = 8 Mäßlein = 16 half Mäßlein = 32 thirties
  • 1 thirties = 80.5 Parisian cubic inches = 1 3/5 liters
  • 1 Metzen = 34 ⅔ measuring jugs = 37.0595 liters
