Iain Pears

Iain Pears (* 1955 in Coventry , West Midlands ) is an English art historian and writer.

Life

Pears graduated from the Warwick School in Warwick . Following this, he studied art history and literature, among others, at Wadham College and at Wolfson College of Oxford University .

After successfully completing this degree, Pears became a journalist for the BBC , Channel 4 and ZDF . Between 1982 and 1990 he worked as a correspondent for Reuters news agency in France, Italy, the United States and Great Britain. In 1987 Yale University named Pears a Getty Fellow .

In addition to his journalistic work, a literary oeuvre emerged over time, which was repeatedly praised by the public as well as by official literary critics.

Pears is married and lives with his family in Oxford.
