Triangular wrench

Triangular keys , like the square key , are keys for operating locks , locking devices, bolts, switches, etc.

They show the same advantages and disadvantages of a square wrench.

The most common are triangular keys with an internal triangle. The leg length is mainly 7 and 8 mm.

8 mm keys are very popular for lockable waste bins, container boxes and public waste bins (for emptying) on streets and paths. The connections for electrical street lamps and connection devices for the telecommunication facilities can also be partially opened with triangular keys.

Barrier posts or barriers in access routes (e.g. fire brigade access to houses, forest roads , parking lots, height limitation barriers etc.) can often be opened with a special triangular key ("fire brigade triangle" according to DIN 3223, leg length 19 mm).
