International competition Germany-Italy-Hungary
The Germany-Italy-Hungary gymnastics competition , also known as three-country gymnastics , was held on March 15, 1942 in the Deutschlandhalle in Berlin in front of 12,000 spectators.
Finland was originally planned as the fourth country. The competition was not an international match, but an individual evaluation. There was gymnastics on the floor, horizontal bar, horse and parallel bars.
For Germany , Rudi Gauch , Helmut Bantz , Willi Stadel and another gymnast took part in the competition.
Results individual evaluation
The best individual gymnast was Helmut Bantz with 117.2 points ahead of the Olympic champion Willi Stadel with 117 points and the Hungarian Franz Batasi with 116.6 points, who was the only one to achieve the highest score of 30 points in floor exercise.
