The Driographie is one of the first developed offset printing process and outdated. It is characterized by the fact that there is no dampening during the printing process.

The pressure plate developed by 3M is made of aluminum . It is prepared with a color-repellent silicone rubber layer, so that the pressure-free areas can be kept color- free without dampening. The copy is made under a negative, the layer sensitized with diazo salts decomposing at the exposed areas of the print image and thus developing. The silicone rubber layer is retained in the non-image areas. A special printing ink is required for this printing process.

In the 1980s, the idea of ​​driography was taken up again and further developed into waterless offset printing .
