Drumline (sound engineering)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As Drumline ( Engl. For, drum line ') is referred to in the sound equipment , the soundtrack for the drums (hi-hat, snare, bass drum, tom, etc.) is recorded. The drumline, together with the bassline ( recording track for bass instruments), forms the rhythm section of a music recording. However, nowadays it is hardly possible to speak of “the” drumline, because the drums are usually recorded on different soundtracks via several microphones . This has the great advantage that a component of the drum kit (e.g. snare or hi-hat ) can later be provided with an audio effect separately and the volume ratio of the individual drum kit components to one another can be changed later.
