A drum rack is a metal frame that is used in a drum kit .

It is mostly used when the drum shells do not have any holes, or when the drum kit is larger. With larger drum sets, this has the advantage of avoiding unnecessary stand material, because all drums, cymbals or other parts can be attached to the rack by means of tom holders and cymbal holding arms attached to it. On the one hand, there are advantages in terms of space requirements, and on the other hand, there are also advantages in terms of transport (including weight). In addition, the positions of the drum parts are fixed on a rack, which also facilitates assembly and disassembly. Drum racks are also often used in electronic drums .
