Ronald Kenneth Zanussi (born August 31, 1956 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Minnesota North Stars and Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League from 1977 to 1982 .

Career

Ron Zanussi began his career as a hockey player with the London Knights , for whom he played for a total of three years in the Ontario Hockey Association from 1973 to 1976 . He was then selected in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft by the Minnesota North Stars in the third round as the 51st player. Then he was initially for a season with the Fort Wayne Komets from the International Hockey League under contract. For the next four years, the Canadian was on the ice with both the Minnesota North Stars and their farm team from the Central Hockey League , the Oklahoma City Stars .

On March 10, 1981, the attacker was given together with the third round suffrage of the North Stars for the NHL Entry Draft 1981 to the Toronto Maple Leafs , whose second round suffrage in the NHL Entry Draft Minnesota received. In his year and a half in Toronto, Zanussi also played for the Cincinnati Tigers from the CHL. In the years 1982 to 1984 he finally ended his career in the American Hockey League with the St. Catharines Saints and the Sherbrooke Jets .
