The Jets de Sherbrooke were a Canadian ice hockey franchise of the American Hockey League from Sherbrooke , Québec . The venue for the jets was the Palais de Sports .

history

The Sherbrooke Jets were founded in 1982 as the farm team of the Winnipeg Jets from the National Hockey League . The team only played in the American Hockey League for two years before being disbanded by the Winnipeg Jets. The two coaches in charge were Rick Bowness in the 1982/83 season and Ron Racette in the 1983/84 season . In both seasons, the Jets finished the season last in the North Division and thus clearly missed the playoffs for the Calder Cup .

The void the Jets left in the city was filled in 1984 by the Sherbrooke Canadiens , who played in the AHL as the Montréal Canadiens farm team until 1990.
