Dry hire

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As dry hire refers to the hiring of technical equipment, mostly for media productions and stage events without other services such operation or construction and dismantling to avail. As a rule, the tenant himself has a pool of materials and sufficiently trained staff. He uses the rented items to carry out larger orders or to meet special requirements and customer requests.

Event technology

In event technology , dry hire providers usually offer a large range of technical equipment from the categories of light , sound , stage and media technology , which can be borrowed for a rental fee and picked up yourself. On tours, often only a small part of the technical equipment is taken by the responsible company, the greater part is rented on site.

Lighting technology

At concert events, an independent lighting designer is often commissioned in addition to a company for event technology, who is responsible for the creative part of the lighting technology. He plans the light show without having to take into account the available materials from the event technology company. This allows him to plan more freely and creatively. The missing materials are then rented from a dry hire provider and returned at the end of the tour.

Stage construction

At large events such as festivals, where many large stages are needed, stage equipment such as trusses is often rented in order to be able to cope with the size of the project.

Sound engineering

The sound technology for concert events is often rented because the demands on the venues , i.e. H. Venues, can be very different.

Media technology

Media technology such as cameras , video mixer , broadcast vans or other facilities that are needed for an event is often associated rents because of its immense purchasing prices of a local provider.

Media production

For large productions such as live events that are broadcast or film productions, camera technology such as lenses , camera cranes or dollys is often rented.
