Jihad Makdissi

Jihad Makdissi ( Arabic جهاد مقدسي) is a Syrian diplomat who was Foreign Ministry spokesman from 1998 to 2012. He comes from the Christian minority of Damascus .

biography

Jihad Makdissi went to high school on-Nur in Damascus. He received his Masters in Diplomacy and Research from the University of Westminster in the UK in 2009 .

Makdissi worked in the Syrian embassy in London for ten years . He returned during the Syrian Civil War to become spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the Bashar al-Assad presidency .

He stayed in this office until his departure from Assad's Ba'ath government on November 30, 2012 and left for the United States .
