Duant

A Duant is a previously mostly D-shaped hollow metal body that was open on the straight side. In the cyclotron , two quanta (also called "D electrodes" or "Dees"), to which an alternating electric field is applied, are used to accelerate charged particles (e.g. protons or electrons ).
