The Dubai Frame (German: “Framework of Dubai”) is a structure opened on January 24, 2018 in the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates .

architecture

The Dubai Frame was planned by the architect Fernando Donis. Donis had already won the “ThyssenKrupp Elevator Architecture Award” in 2008 with his plans for the high-rise. The structure consists of two 150-meter-high towers, which are connected at the bottom by a base building and at the top by a 93-meter-long bridge, thus reminiscent of the shape of a picture frame. Through this frame you can either see the modern Dubai around the Burj Khalifa or from the other direction the old Dubai with the district Deira . In the base building there is a museum that shows the development of Dubai from a fishing village to a big city. The bridge above has a 25 m² glass floor that offers a view of the Zabeel Park below as well as large parts of Dubai.
