Dubník (Červenica)

Dubník is a village in Slovakia. It is part of the municipality of Červenica north of the main town in the mountains. In the vicinity of Dubník at 21 ° 27'45 "E 48 ° 55'26" N there is a 318 meter high guyed tubular steel transmission mast for broadcasting VHF and television programs, the base of which is 874 meters above sea level.

The place is also known for the nearby opal deposits , which have been mined since the end of the 16th century.

The largest precious opal in Europe (weight 594 grams) was found here around 1670 and is now in the possession of the Natural History Museum in Vienna.
